Battlestar Galactica

I understand there's a peace treaty in place and a warlike race mean to defeat humankinds existence by whatever means necessary. What I can't figure out is what the heck a "centon" is. Whether a unit of distance, time or volume, the enigmatic "centon" seems to be the intergalactic equivalent to a "smidgen".

In my opinion, better than Star Wars and Star Trek's debut. An amazing collection of solid acting and cool retro effects. Cylons were a creation of pure genius. Knight Rider took the eyes for KIT.

More space operas, please!

Unbelievable for its time. Loved it.

Strangely low budget anti Star Wars sci-fi. Something akin to a Western mixed with some of the better Gerry Anderson puppetry and UFO. The story is unchallenging, acting is workmanlike and the film veers from camp comedy to self-conscious cringy moments (only a few). So different from the Star Wars/Star Trek feel of the time it has to score for some originality.

Some interesting ideas mixed with some terrible ones. Luckily a few decades later someone would see some real potential here and flesh it out to its fullest.

Basically 2 episodes stitched 2gether, the 2nd half runs over some really hokey plotholes, but the 1st half is pretty impressive if only 4 creating a new sci-fi mythos. Surprisingly bleak w/ a clearly distinct narrative vision of its own, it was an outrageous power grab on 20th Century Fox's part when they tried 2 sue for plagiarism claiming ideas were stolen from Star Wars. This story definitely ain't Star Wars & Larson strings old sci-fi elements together w/ as much originality as Lucas did.

It really helps you appreciate how much better the remake series is. Everything about this is wrong. The dialogue. The costumes. The '70s hair. The set design. EVERYTHING

Feature version of the premiere episode of the heavily hyped TV _Star Wars_ clone, drastically edited and with a specially shot ending. The John Dykstra FX and impressive robot aliens called Cylons are the best things about this routine space opera.

Visually spectacular, but suffers from a slow pace and uninspired characterization.

Not as good as the remake, but probably the best TV series until its time.

Really fucking stupid, thank god the new TV series rescued this incredible story.

This is a very influential series from the late '70s though the effects and filming style do seem quite dated by today's standards.

We all went nuts for this when it came out but now totally unwatchable.
