Battle of Britain

An uninteresting, average WW2 film. The battle scenes get boring (although there is some great aerial photography), and the film never gets into a good pace.

Excellent cast including a very young Christopher Plummer. Not a bad film.

Consider my lip stiffened.

Well-produced entry in the all-star cast war movie genre starts out very well with brilliantly realised cameos from Jurgens and (especially) Richardson, plus a reliably authoritative performance from Howard, followed by some exciting aerial dogfights -- but the movie never really moves on from this, seemingly intent on repeating the same plane footage ad nauseum, with no consideration of the historical context of the story. Baffling, irrelevant interludes with Plummer and York another detriment.

The lavish production and some exciting scenes are troubled by a very uneven narrative that often makes no sense at all.

A great cast and some excellent aerial filming, but much too slow for my (or most people's) tastes. A fine soporific.

So it sure is impressive they got all those planes together & made a movie with em.Just a shame that throwing planes at a camera doesnt make a good movie.Its rare to see such an amazing cast do so very little.Most of the film is dogfights which may sound badass but the direction isn't super thrilling and you eventually catch on that several crashes are actually just the same crash from different angles. take a shot every time a plane with 1 engine out veers slowly to the side trailing smoke

Everyone's just so goddamn plucky.

Not a war film you'll consider a classic or necessity to watch but there are some nice aerial shots to be seen.

The number of aircrafts this movie shows are quite impressive. It's too long though.

Even though it's based on Hx, it's not that good. I expected better.

A well-done film about what might have been THE most important battle of WWII. Churchill's praise, of those who won the skies over Britain and prevented the German invasion, from the hindsight of history was pretty accurate. {A quote worth looking up}

Every British actor in the Universe at the time and every war cliche present and correct - just down the claret, don't leave it for "when you return". Takes eons to get through though.

Full of stiff-upper-lip and don't you know there's a war on. Moves slowly but it's a classic, and a showpiece for an entire generation of british actors.
