Jesus. It's an intensely moronic story combined with stupid Call of Duty-like action, but shittier. So, err, Call of Doody. Heh. I'm so witty.

If you've ever wanted to see a bunch of Japanese teenagers and the bass player of some Japanese Ska band re-enact the opening of Saving Private Ryan look no further. This is almost Highlander 2/The Hidden 2 kinda bad holy moley. 85% of this shit is some kid being shot, then a classmate screeches out their namein that horrible way Japanese teenagers do; nails on a chalkboard. I've used "Japanese" way too much. Hiroshima did a number on'em and they even start hootin about it during the opening.

Convoluted and ugly sequel shares many of its predecessor's faults; a lack of character development and a thuddingly literal exploration of potentially potent satirical material. Add to this a sluggish pace, and some slavish rehashes of situations and scenarios from Part 1, and you have an almost unwatchable misfire. A tastless 'tribute' to SAVING PRIVATE RYAN's Normandy storm, as well as drawing a clumsy correlation with the 9/11 terrorist attacks, are no help.

Unfaily received hate because it was not a carbon copy of the first.

The "kids vs adults" political angle made no sense the first time around and makes even less sense this time. There are a couple anti-imperialist scenes (and the director noted similar sentiments) that nearly fooled me into trying to read between all the bloodshed, but pretty soon you realize it's mostly gibberish.

As usual, a bad sequel to a great first film as the original cast has all left and the producers forced something new to be released for more money without a true appreciation for what made the first great

A good film but a disappointing sequel to what was a great first movie. The rules are too different and confusing compared to #1.

No words need be stated to grasp the ruination of such an amazing classic as the first Battle Royale compared to this.

Abrasively difficult to watch without frustration, this is a sequel so bogged down in cliches, contrivances, and absurdities that what comes out hardly resembles a serious release, much less a sequel to a cult classic.

Battle Royale is not a movie that needed a sequel. Battle Royale was ESPECIALLY not a movie that needed a sequel like this.

Took away almost everything I loved about the first movie. They replaced Takeshi Kitano with Riki Takeuchi but in nearly the same role?!? WTF I mean I like Riki but this is a shit role which not even he can save as it's almost the same character as Beat's in the first but written more two dimensional.

Shows promise in the first few minutes, then is dashed when you see the first few performances. Just watch the first one. This can be disregarded.

Where the hell do I start with this one? Killing off the most visually striking character early on? Not supplying a back story for any of the minor characters? Incredibly convulted and nonsensical message about America's war on terror (seriously, what the hell did that have to do with anything?)? Unspeakably annoying main character? A disasterous performance by Riki Takeuchi? That fucking ending? Only for die-hard fans of the first film, this one

What's fantastic is that the orientation follows almost the exact same pattern, step-by-step, as the first movie, except with some contrived, stupid twists in the game that make no sense except that it ups the body count, but totally negates the entire point. Nothing new.

They added way too much to the original to try and make a sequel and ended up with a confusing, disjointed mess whose only redeeming quality is the intricate and copious violence that we see throughout the film. Fans of the original BR looking for a second helping beware.
