The whole business looked fairly cool. But what the heck was the point of all that? Sorry...I musta missed it.

THIS RATING CONCERNS THE ORIGINAL SOVIET VERSION, NOT THE CORMAN AMERICANIZATION. The film has pervasive, almost asphyxiating Soviet propaganda. It drags in places and avoids the fantastic. Nevertheless, Mikhail Karyukov uses a gorgeous color palette that makes the film strangely entrancing.
