Batoru gâru: Tokyo crisis wars

Mildly amusing super low-budget Japanese zombie film that plays it too straight and is too slow for its own good.

There were some interesting shots in this, but the hand-fighting was poorly choreographed and the lead was completely unconvincing as a tough chick, despite the fact that the actress was a wrestler. A couple of the zombie designs were good, but for the most part they were pretty bland. Like the movie.

Make no mistake - this is a pure trash in form of moving pictures. Although I am only occasional viewer of this kind of films (there are lots of devoted fans) this creation of Gaira Komizu seems a bit like a lost opportunity for me. Visual style and soundtrack is right on the spot, but the narrative is hardly coherent. After the great first impression the film soon gets tiring.
