Two losers from Milwaukee, Coop & Remer (Parker & Stone), invent a new game playing basketball, using baseball rules. When the game becomes a huge success, they, along with a billionaire's help, form the Professional Baseketball League where everyone gets the same pay and no team can change cities. Coop & Remer's team, the Milwaukee Beers is the only team standing in the way of major rule changes that the owner of the Dallas Felons (Vaughn) wants to institute. (imdb)

One of the funniest movies that I've ever seen (christ do I love toilet humor). The way I gauge rating a comedy is how often I laughed the first time I saw it, and then every time since then. I was DYING the first time I saw this movie, and I truly relish it as a classic. I could give a goddamn what a critic has to say about it, it is that good.

Probably sharper than it gets credit for, but some of the cleverness probably gets masked by the all-consuming silliness. Much of its charm comes from the antics of the likeable Parker and Stone, and the supporting cast are fun enough. Made me want to watch Orgazmo again. Entertaining enough.

By no means can this movie be described as well-acted, well-written, or really anything else containing the prefix "well-". However, it was entertaining in a lowest common denominator sort of way.

Gross? Frequently. Offensive? Sometimes. Stupid? Absolutely. Funny? Good heavens, yes! Managed to walk the line between incredibly ridiculous, & believable reaction shots or people playing straight for some head shaking chuckles, pure shocking mouth open surprise, & solid outright laughs.

Amusing and enjoyable sports saga never takes off into the stratosphere as you might hope with the talent involved – sluggishly leaps from gag to gag with a surprising lack of grace or finesse (especially with a Zucker behind the camera) but the bits that hit are genuinely funny enough for it not to be too great a problem; why/how Borgnine, Vaughn and Stack got roped into this is a bit of a mystery, but the glee in their participation is infectious.

Given the pedigree of its creative team, it should have been funnier, but Parker and Stone are such loveable dorks that even in a middling vehicle like Baseketball they never fail to entertain. They play two average joes who invent a silly new game that becomes a sensation because it's a refreshing antidote to the sterile corporatism of professional sport. It's an incredibly dumb and low brow comedy, but there are a few inspired moments, especially the amusing 'psyche outs' and bad taste gags.

A pretty underrated comedy. Yes the acting is pretty terrible and a few of the jokes are pretty dated, but the actual parts lampooning professional sports are all hilarious and spot on. The toilet humor has it's moments too.

As a fan of The Naked Gun and South Park is always wanted to watch this but never got around to it. As it turns out, i wasn't missing anything. The main problem is that it's boring. It lacks the unrelenting spitfire of jokes of The Naked Gun, and the societal criticism is an afterthought. Instead you get long stretches of uninteresting story with many unfunny jokes and dated references. Rarely does it actually get funny or clever. This film should've stayed in the 90s.

Baseketball is a blast from the past from my childhood. I am sure there are parts that don't really hold up, but I still can watch this movie almost 20 years later and find it funny. Parker and Stone bring a good amount of sophomoric humor from the creators of South Park. I love Jenny McCarthy as the clueless love interest of Ernest Borgnine, the team owner. I will continue watching this movie yearly.

The only memorable moment I remember really enjoying is the exposition of the state of sports (and how on the nose it is with some of its elbow nudging) Other than that humor seems like it it was riffing off of the trends of the late 90's but doesn't surprise me with Trey and Stone as they do in the moment comedy well (ie South Park).

Perfect blend of the silly gags, groan-inducing puns and overall sensibility of ZAZ comedies, with that early Parker & Stone material feeling - somewhat satirical, somewhat crude, somewhat stupid. Maintains a sense of innocence while being increasingly filthy, and the combination of the different types of humor make this laugh-a-minute, and the points where it becomes hard to distinguish who wrote what jokes are the best. Some parts are a little dated but overall it's a lot better than it looks.

If you are expecting something like the uncompromising satire of "South Park," trust me when I say you'll be disappointed. This is just a crazy little spoof movie, with cameos by sports icons and roles for people like Yasmine Bleeth, Jenny McCarthy, and Robert Vaughn, and honestly, that's good enough for me.
