I feel so stupid because I didn't entirely get it. It is a sloow, slow movie with a lot of underlying tensions of old school vs. modern and more progressive view as well as a thing with power balance. Honestly, the older guy would have annoyed me so much, I would probably have tried drowning him in that lake pretty soon into all of his malice. I wish I would have gotten more out of this, but I was also probably watching this while I was way too tired.
