Watching these 1930s Danish films it's dawning on me why we only talk about Carl Theodor Dreyer from the classic era of Danish cinema. These musical comedies are very much a product of it's time and has not aged well. Empty and not funny. Lau Lauritzen was a director who'd done silly comedies since the 1910s. I struggle to see much of the appeal these films had and it's a shame the taste for this kind of commercial crap prevented Dreyer from making any films at all in Denmark during the 30s.
