This film took a gigantic steaming shit on my childhood

Animated films tend to rank low compared to live action, even if they are thrilling adventures filled with rolling-in-the-isle humor. This one has some thrills and adventure but there isn't much humor. It's a story about parental love, coming of age, and self-discovery. I'm not surprised this one bombed in the ratings because the whole concept was a bad idea from the outset. On the other hand, if you like this sort of story it's a very good film. I'll be watching this one again.
