Balked at the Altar

I was enjoying this at first but the "chase films" just don't do it for me.

A comic chase picture on a "shotgun wedding" theme. The presentation of the chase is more like the sort of thing Porter etc. had been doing for the last few years than the more carefully edited style Griffith would soon make famous.

An early chase movie! A guy is forced to propose to a lady with a shotgun pointed in his face, but at the wedding he sees the chance to escape and tries to out-run the entire church attendance! An example of the type of comedies D.W. Griffith did during his early days as a director. Very Keystone'ish, which is not surprising as one of the supporting actors is none other then Mack Sennett!
