In 1898, a band of Spanish soldiers heroically defended Baler (which was not yet the capital municipality of Aurora until 1951) against Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days. The battle, now referred to as the Siege of Baler, is the setting of a forbidden love between a Mestizo soldier (Jericho Rosales) and a Filipina lass (Anne Curtis) who lived at the end of the 19th century.

Interesting to see a Filipino period piece. The story of the siege of Baler which happened during the Philippine Revolution of 1898. It's highly romantic. Both how the siege was handled becoming a test of patience and with the forbidden love between Spanish soldier Jericho Rosales and local peasant girl Anne Curtis. Never a perfect picture. Lacks something to reach all the way emotionally and for Spanish linguals it's probable gonna be a painful experience listening to the pinoys spanish.
