Bad Boys: Ride or Die

Very unfortunate that they didn't choose "die"...

I don't have a serious connection to this series. They're okay action movies with two leads that have good chemistry, and a few really cool scenes scattered throughout. And yet this one got to me. The action is not the most top-tier stuff in existence but it's a lot of fun, with kinetic camera angles that serve the action rather than smothering it. It's kinda funny. Their chemistry is still on point. I was most shocked by the fact that it actually got me emotionally. I really like this.

Enjoyable action movie with annoying comedic moments.

Definitely a bit better than Bad Boys 3, which I was lukewarm on - more creative/dynamic action scenes, neon cinematography, nastier villains, somewhat more interesting plot. Unfortunately the momentum is continually stalled out by cringy comedy bits from Martin Lawrence (even in the movie’s climax!); I wish they’d just left him in the hospital bed from the heart attack at the beginning and had Will Smith and his bastard son go on the adventure together.

For some reason the stakes are suddenly Mission:Impossible level, and the characters have developed Ethan Hunt tier fighting ability. This franchise isn't my ride or die. They're getting old.

Four movies in, I think this franchise might not be my jam. Ride or Die's entire aesthetic is bougie money meets ghetto attitude, and questioning the affordability of Lowrey & Burnett's lifestyles is more interesting than the plot. The script is mediocre, but the acting and action is alright, though Seehorn is noticeably a step above everyone in intensity which further highlights how silly it all is. A cheesy reminder of the early 00's and the forgettable, blockbuster fluff we've left behind.

Overcomplicated plot for a basic idea -- duo operating outside law enforcement to exonerate their late, former boss of being linked with south Florida's cartels, engaging Mike's convicted son and some cop friends to help --, but most jokes land -- Marcus past lives shit about Mike being his donkey back then, later "developed" in post-credits; Reba! -- and action, while not brilliant, works when the film needs -- kinda liked the drone material; maybe Bay gave directors some tips after Ambulance.

The 4th of the Bad Boys, and it's a fun mindless action movie, straight out of the 80s formula. Something about the style felt artificial, but on the other hand you had Martin Lawrence totally not taking this serious, which was where most of the fun came.

It's TOO SOON for the Chris Rock SLAPPING Will Smith to be forgiven. TOO SOON.

For an action movie, the action sure is dull. Despite all its attempts to be loud and bombastic in a blockbuster way, the relentless carnage, reliance of CGI, and absence of anything coordinated in an entertaining and amusing fashion just way heavy. The story is also dead in the water (vanilla bad guy wants to weaponise AI), but the film's salvation comes from its two leads, who display a true chemistry with each other, as if they're friends off-screen. Give Will another Oscar!

Stylish action, fantastic stunts, Smith and Lawrence being hilarious and heartwarming all in one. What more could you ask for?

Not my cup of tea. Enjoyed 3 but this one was... BAD.

Really liked the character interplay and that all of them had the chance to shine. It also might just be the funniest of the franchise.

One of the worst films of 2024

There's a moment in this movie that encapsulates what I don't like about this series or many movies like it. Late in the movie there is a moment that references a scene in Jurassic Park. It's clear this is what they're doing and it's a cute moment that would otherwise be enjoyable, and then Martin Lawrence basically steps in and says "LIKE IN JURASSIC PARK!" It's this kind of disdain for the intelligence of the audience, along with the weird tone of the films, that really turns me off from this.

I really loved this movie. Saw this with my friend (R). Basically we are stopping a bad guy who is framing the good boss in this that was dead in the other movie. trying to tarnish his legacy. Traitors are in this movie. I really liked this movie. I had no idea who the traitor was in the movie. Funny jokes in this one. For an action, it pretty much has a simplistic story that I found realistic & that's what I most loved about this. That & figuring out who the traitors were.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die seemingly fits into the summer movie esthetic. It’s vibrant, unapologetic, and kinda weird? Regardless, while the characterization of these characters are kind of stagnant in comparison to its previous entry, this is a whole lot of dumb fun that even flirts with some Fast & Furious suspension of disbelief. Better yet, this whole ensemble of characters is fun, and the people behind the camera clearly understand the material. A complete summer blast.

A decent coda/addendum to the previous film. The vibes with Adil and Bilall are so good!

More enjoyable than the last movie, due to more of the classic comedy and action the series is known for, but still not quite as good as the originals.

A little slow to begin but then was really good. On par with #2.
