Danny Trejo movies are always worth the price of admission, and this is a much better 1980's action throwback/homage/send-up than HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN. But...well...to be honest...it's kinda dumb, I guess. While it's unfurling, though, if you're in the right frame of mind, you won't care.

A welcome addition to the Old-Dudes-Kickin'-Ass action movie sub-genre. What? You were expecting it to be corny-moment free? Full of career defining performances? You read the summary first, right?

I'm not familiar with the Youtube video this is based on. The story is average but Trejo is likeable. The directing and screenplay are average at best and so is this movie as a whole.

Bad Ass is a bad action movie based on an internet meme that just serves to remind us that just because something is funny in three-minute intervals, it isn't necessarily funny for 90 minutes. Danny Trejo is about the only watchable component to Bad Ass, save for perhaps fanny packs, which may or may not be making a comeback. It's not worth watching. Even if you're Epic Beard Man's biggest fan, this movie might just sour you on his whole lore. Bad Ass is a bad movie.

Bad ass is one the craziest and nicest mofo's you will ever meet. And the basketball court fight was so funny.

It's hard to tell what's "bad on purpose" and what's just inept filmmaking on this one, but it's not as fun as it looks like. Plus, what's the point of basing it on Epic Beard Man if you're gonna create a whole new character?

Certainly not a "good film", but entertaining and pretty funny.

Danny Trejo is always fun to watch and Joyful Drake is stunningly beautiful. A great homage to the 80's action flick.

if danny trejo weren't pushing seventy and he didn't wear a fanny pack while kicking some ass this movie would be about thirty percent less entertaining. i dug the plot and the writing was acceptable, danny trejo also shows a soft side that most of the public never even considered a possibility.

Somewhere between THE BRAVE ONE and WALKING TALL but unfortunately not as good as either. It just lacked the gritty, bad-ass feel that Danny Trejo should have brought.

It's a pretty bad and ridiculous movie. If you have expectations you'll be disappointed. If you don't, you can possibly enjoy a few scenes.

The plot gets a bit too big for its britches (come on, did this seriously need the mandatory tacked on romance and government conspiracy?) really quickly.

Not fully committed to its theme of vengeance and ass-kicking. Whenever momentum builds up, it is stunted by insertion of superfluous romance/bonding subplots. Instead of adrenaline-inducing and impetuous, most of the process (of exacting revenge) felt like drudging through day job in a weird sense. The boring villains (and characters in general) do not help at all. Not badass enough.
