For the most part a well-meaning Czechoslovakian movie about how wise grandmothers once was. Sweet in it's sober ways finding happiness in the simple things. Sadly narratively it doesn't travel as well as intended. A little messy that way, but Babicka [Grandmother] (1940) does have heart.
