After the sweet and charming original, here we take a hard left turn into the weird, goofy, and disturbing. Thoroughly unpleasant and tone-deaf. Avoid.

One of my favorite films ever. It has so many great sequences like the fire in the children's hospital, the dog chase, Flealick's near death experience and the acting from everyone is top notch. There's so much more life and wonderment in this film than most I've seen. I'm often very moved by it. The "bungee" scene towards the end is a little silly, but it's like a family friendly version of BEYOND THUNDERDOME. Tragically underrated and nearly perfect.

Hey, George! What do you know about fantasy storytelling? Everything? Oh good! What do you know about children's movies? Nothing? Hmm. That's less encouraging, but...Screw it! Let's give this franchise the old Australian nihilistic how can this possibly be good for kids treatment. In all seriousness though, I tear up every single time I see that pig jump in to save the dog. What a magical moment of caring!

If you like animals then you'll like this. Apart from that this doesn't have much to offer and doesn't have much of a plot. It also has a lot of depressing scenes.

Bolder and quirkier than its predecessor for sure, but to say that the film is over-bleak, depressing, or even dark, is critical hyperbole. While it has some heavy moments, the same charm, innocence and goodwill line the entire narrative which, at the end of the day, resolves with just as much warmth as the first film. Beautifully shot and elaborately staged; the animatronics, choreographing etc. are all so well put together. Criminally underrated.

Even as a child, I didn't like it much; I wanted to like it, but there're just too many unlikable characters and not enough story to justify them.

Very inventive and imaginative children's movie that is also pretty funny. Would be a great double feature with LOVE & PEACE (and one cannot help but wonder if this was part of Sion Sono's inspiration). Have not seen the first film, but, based on this and MAD MAX 2, perhaps there's evidence that Miller gets it more right second time around.

I was pleasantly surprised by BABE's rustic charm, warmth and dignity. This sequel has none of those qualities. Gone are the simple but engaging situations, replaced with wacky mis-adventures, irritating slapstick and bombast, and even mean-spiritedness. There is nothing funny or endearing about any of it. It is a cynical misunderstanding of what made its predecessor so loveable. The film's climax is painfully slapsticky and broad, and moreover leaves our titular hero with no agency whatsoever.

Extremely imaginative piece of world-building from Miller. The good feelings of rural living are nearly crushed by the onslaught that is the modern city, a place where people pursue things of lesser importance in isolation from one another. That Miller is able to place Babe in this dark milieu and turn him into an even greater hero there really heightens our understanding of Babe's 'kind and steady heart.' What is nice in the first film becomes profound in the second.

"How did this happen? Where Babe brought deep-rooted joy, the sequel brings fidgety depression. And save us from films in which chimpanzees dress in human clothes. Didn't we ban that or something?"

This has to rank as one of the most massive letdowns in cinematic history. After the enthralling, endearing, and memorable "Babe", we get this followup piece of drek. Yes, I'm being harsh, but this film deserves it. It has none of the positive qualities of the first film--it is not funny, upbeat, or redeeming. For the love of all that is good, avoid this film.

I only wish there was three of these Babe movies so that I could put it in a top trilogy list. This movie has a charming, eccentric style to it. It almost feels like a dream with the cityscapes, the hotel, and the silliness of the ballroom scene.

It's crazy 'cause i must've been literally 5 years old the last time i watched this, and while watching it now so many images that kinda traumatized me back then came back (like that whole clown scene, ugh) and it's so weird lol. It is weirdly mean spirited and truly odd, very different compared to the first film. Still, i actually enjoyed it and thought it was well written and directed. It was hard watching some scenes tho (like when the dog is about to drown) which were really unnecessary.

This has its moments thanks to the sure-handed direction of George Miller but it is ultimately too uneven and frankly too bizarre, given the subject matter, to be called a worthy sequel.

Babe: Pig in the City is an acid trip of animal madness that has a very difficult time figuring out how to resolve its unraveling chaos, but that's okay, because the good moments are good and the bizarre moments are bizarre and the depressing moments are disturbing as fuck. Will kids like this? I'm not sure. Will it scare them? Almost definitely. Amidst the madness, there's a strong argument for treating one another, no matter our differences, as equals. The finale is awful, but whatever.

I can't dislike a children's film where Mickey Rooney plays an evil clown named Fugly. The singing wears thin very quickly and the climax is kinda painful, but the mise-en-scene is astonishing, the tone is impressively dark and threatening, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't get weepy. Well worth a watch.

One of those movies in which animals talk. There are some mixed signals, because on the one side it's rather childish, and on the other side it has some sad and serious moments. So, maybe it was made for parents who want to teach their children that the world is not a bed of roses? Maybe, just maybe... In general, it's more like a parody than a comedy. Several written "titles" for the next parts of the movie is something original, me likes. A nice reminding of origins of cinematography.

This "film" acts as tool for so-called animal rights organisations such as PETA to propogandize viewers into avoiding eating meat products. This is done rather farcically through portraying animals with human emotions when they should be sitting in a pot of stew.

Quite a delightful watch, and I suspect even repeated viewings would not take away from some light fun that this movie provides to the entire family-I am ofcourse biased being a staunch vegetarian, I tend to give extra points to any movie that appeals to my 'save the animals' instinct. this movie is too dark for kids. it got some nice scenes that you will enjoy. some funny scenes that will make you laugh, it got ok art direction nice effects. i think this was was saved by a very fine line from being a total messy disaster. it could have been a near nonsense movie which in some way it is. it lacks the whole charm and sweetness it is very creepy and dark and too heavy to be enjoyed and loved by even adults. it should have been better. still you may have fun watching it.

A great film by any right, with the exception of the bungee scene in the end (but it is a kid's movie I suppose). It's surprisingly dark, it's funny, it's well-paced, and the set design is amazing. A superior sequel. Score is not a grade.

Through the lens of "kids movie," a mischievous light is shining. Miller realizes that with cute talking animals you can get away with an awful lot, and comes up with a twisted and overwhelming urban amalgam, fascistic and sinister. Babe and Esme keep things wonderfully piggy somehow, despite the proliferation of severe non sequitur. The final scene bouncing around the ballroom does stretch on a bit, but wait a second, this George Miller is the same guy who directed Beyond Thunderdome? Holy shi

I'm not going to lie to you, the first Babe is a guilty pleasure of mine, and about 30 minutes into this film I was convinced that this would be a decent follow-up. Kolejna czesc przygod niezwyklego zwierzecia pomagajacego innym z niezwykle zarysowanymi w filmie cechami ludzkimi. Calkiem przyzwoite zakonczenie obydwu czesci.

Although i saw the first episode, i hardly recall it, but i do remember it being way better than this. I got a couple laughs off the duck, but the episodic interruptive narrative barely carries a story. If I'm not going to be enjoying something meaningful, i'm all the more disappointed that some of the effects look cheep. The audience was laughing a lot.
