If Legolas surfing on that shield was your favorite Lord of the Rings moment, you'll LOVE Baahubali.

More operistic and dramatic than the first, but also with complex set pieces and a great sense of myth, space and fantasy and a vigorous amount of twists.

I got exactly what I wanted from this movie. As if imagined by a 5-year-old, it's not afraid to be silly, and as a result the film is a nonstop greasy drama with batshit action and not a second of it is boring

As the title says, the conclusion of an epic tale. Whilst the first movie spent more time about setting up the lore, this movie spends more time with action scenes. I loved it.

I watched Baahubali 1 and 2 because Lord of the Rings are my favorite movies and I heard this was "Indian Lord of the Rings". In terms of epic scale I can see the comparison but unless something is lost it translation, this really lacks the depth that Lord of the Rings has.

Bahuubali 2: Electric Baahubaloo continues to deliver charming musical numbers and unique action sequences with religious fervor. It's big dumb fun.

Wow, almost as if the director had a lot more experience since making the first one. The directing, art direction and even the CGI, are sooo much better (except for the last few minutes for some reason)! It's hard to believe they're made by the same people. At first I was disappointed in the relative scarcity of over-the-top action like in part 1, but then they brought out the human catapult fodder and I was giggling again. Sad that Avantika had only a minor part in this.

Somehow, both the epicness and the nonsense are far more outragous than in the previous film.

It's easy to get caught up in the epic scale of this, making large parts an entertaining distraction. All the bombastic over-the-top hero celebrations does get close to self-parody. Unfortunately the epic journey the hero (of the main story line) undertakes is not linked to any character development. This sequel, which focusus more on the flashback, which with all its typical power scheming and epic wars is more interesting and therefor slightly better than the first one.

Confession: I never saw Baahubali 1. But from its looks, I can surmise that B2 must be one of the biggest and most expensive epics in Bollywood history. There is CGI all over the place - some of it not great - and the story takes its colourful and macho characters to all sorts of locations and time periods (and genres). The main characters, I must say, are not very likeable. And the epic style, while impressive, becomes a little exhausting. Sign me up for the 100-minute highlight reel, though.
