Two close friends, Aniruddhan (Mammootty) & Sukumaran (Mohanlal), marry each others' younger sisters, Neelima (Kavita Thakur) & Sujatha (Shobana), respectively. However, after the initial euphoria wears off, Aniruddhan's conservative views started clashing with Neelima's modern outlook, driving them apart.
