Au pays des ténèbres

Very melodramatic as two rival miners get trapped underground when there is an explosion. You feel the claustrophobia, so the key scenes are very good. The romance angle not so exciting, but you had to add to the drama that way too as Victorin-Hippolyte Jasset adapts the writings of Émile Zola.
