A twisting, oblique, psychological crime mystery. Intelligent and challenging, and with good, round characters. Gamblin and Bonnaire are distinctive and colorful without being relatable, but the one five-star performance in the movie is Valeria Bruni Tedeschi's. She plays police chief Frédérique Lesage with personality and flair but very natural.
