Deranged doll-maker Mr. Franz is deathly afraid of being left alone, so he creates a machine that can shrink humans down to only a few inches tall. He soon accumulates a troupe of shrunken prisoners whom he forces to perform for him and keep him company. When he shrinks his secretary Sally and her fiance Bob, the pair decide against spending their days as pint-sized playthings and try to find a way to escape and re-enlarge themselves. (imdb)

This is easily the worst John Agar movie I've ever seen, and I've seen some bad fuckin' John Agar movies.

it's absolutely awful, really, but the effects are passable and john hoyt is one of the creepiest freaks ever in this. i kept going based on him alone. dude never stopped smiling, and all his thoughts and plans and words were disturbing.

The best part of this movie is when Bert I Gordon throws in a few minutes of The Amazing Colossal Man, and then keeps cutting back to it like he can't keep his eyes off it. Franz is a good villain, though, he's rapey as hell. The "projection" explanation is one of the most ridiculous and charming bits of pseudo-science in the genre.

The whole title and poster is a very weird set up for what the movie definitely isn't. The poster is without a doubt better than the movie but that's cuz it's just so good. Also the puppets don't attack and are the victims in the whole thing. A fun little B movie. An oddly sad and nuanced performance by John Hoyt. The dangers of obsession. Not combating what truly makes you alone. The zoom as June Kenney realizes the door is locked is perfection. The watergate movie!

Pretty lame. Part two of my 'Dudes Who Get Off To Puppets' double feature with I Am Suzanne.

Another misguidingly lurid title. John Hoyt is very good in his role, managing to be both avuncular and creepy nicely. This movie also introduces us to Susan Gordon...who is clearly the best thing Bert I ever produced (even if she is neither amazing nor colossal).
