Classic poster, crap film. She only leaves her room with nine minutes to go in the movie! And the message apparently is that jealousy, even if completely justified, will only lead to destruction and death - so be sure to let your man sleep around, ladies!

Unfortunately, this 50's sci-fi monster movie classic was far more of a tedious bore than I was naively expecting. While of course I personally would have preferred the movie had been something like an hour long 50's version of the 'Super Hot Giant Alien' scene from "Dude Where's My Car"(2000), and I get there being budget restraints and there needing to be some sort of "plot" and all, but this movie seriously drags it stumbling feet along until the underwhelming 50 ft. woman rampage finale.

Though it features some enjoyable performances & intriguing characters, and it can be argued there's feminist undertones poking through, it's all bogged down by extremely misguided writing & an agonizingly slow pace that never picks up & makes even the tense moments feel boring. The campiness very quickly devolves into outright badness, with the Giant Space Dude & his big UFO ball being particularly groan inducing. It's 66 minutes of blah that feels like 98, & is more or less a flop.

Only a couple of minutes at the end offer anything approaching entertainment in this cheap sci-fi dud, and the rest is tedious and hopelessly acted, lacking any kind of camp charm. There's a reason it's remembered as a poster first and a film second.

Excellent portrayal of a woman in trouble, a la Sunset Blvd, A Woman Under the Influence, or any number of David Lynch films. Nancy is controlled by society before literally shattering the attic that binds her and taking revenge on her emotionally abusive husband. Yeah, the effects are pretty bad (seriously, a baby doll?) but suspension of disbelief carries it through.

What makes these kinds of movies excel is how the camp is a direct product of hopefully-outdated sexual and political foolishness: the perhaps-alien rape of a jilted, frustrated, cuckolded woman makes her grow to a size where everyone can look up her skirt and see in large detail what her husband is missing out on. Thing is, that's as deep as this gets (not 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' deep, for example) - you get the same idea from the poster, which is better than the movie itself.

Fun enough classic throwaway sci-fi movie with genre tropes. Surprised at how evil the husband and the mistress were. Campy special effects and silly armor wearing alien. Best thing about this was how short it was. Yvette Vickers was pretty. Could use a funnier commentary. Fav scene: medieval chainmail wearing alien advancing on sheriff, the scariness of that advance with the futility of the sheriff's gun, and then tossing the station wagon.

As the other reviewer stated, the only good thing about the film is the poster. There are no other redeeming qualities. The cast and acting are poor, the sets are scarce, the plot and the dialogue are unattractive. What really hurts the film is its independent budget and the very outdated and tired visual effects that it goes with. Where in some films the lack of believable effects can be forgiven due to artistic/story-telling proficiency it's impossible here as it's integral to the film

A classic camp movie, so much so that I'm using the word "camp" and I never do that. Sadly, it doesn't live up to it's reputation and it ends up just being boring and annoying.

Starts off mediocre, and then dramatically goes downhill as it's forced to start relying on its special effects, climaxing in a laughably bad and overly rushed conclusion. The logic is about what you'd expect from any other B-movie.

This movie literally narrates a story of "alienation". The patriarchal society ostracizes the women so much that even though they are rich like Nancy Archer, they are outcatsts. And besides, who needs the computer work special effects and their fake claim of reality when a movie like that with a low budget can invent new ways of storytelling with an original understanding of aesthetics? I find this style more sincere and entertaining than the former.

The payoff at the end is hilarious and what we all watched this movie for, but it doesn't last anywhere near as long as I would have liked, and it comes to an abrupt, unsatisfying conclusion.

Starts off B-movie-perfect as the opening 10 mins introduces a sympathetic, yet slightly flawed protagonist who the filmmakers set up 4 an inevitable growth spurt & a face-off w/ a slimeball hubby u can't help but root against. Un4tunately, it proceeds 2 put BOTH of these things on hold until the last 10 mins. Perhaps it was an issue of special efx being 2 difficult & costly 2 pull off back then, but a B-movie's got an obligation 2 provide many quick & easy payoffs no matter how cheap it looks.

One-of-a-kind camp foolishness obviously made to grab off some of the success of _The Amazing Colossal Man_. Hayes is great in her signature role. Hudson is her smarmy, cheating husband and Vickers his vampy mistress in this low-brow masterpiece, surely one of the twenty five or so most famous titles in movie history.
