Best comedy of the year

Atlas' the film ended.

So, J-Lo... Anyway, quite a lot of cliches (I hate AI but I am forced to work with, but at the end it helped me so I actually like it now).

I quite enjoyed this movie as it has plenty of action and a nice twisty Sci-Fi Robot theme. Performances were good, but there were plenty of flaws. Not the least of which is that she was the least likely to survive and succeed among the group. The movie would have been considerably better if all the warriors had not died going into the big battle. It's one of those movies you just have to turn your brain off and enjoy the crazy.

The only action was in the final 20 minutes. The rest was just running and flying and falling and jumping and playing hide and seek. Smh.

My partner whispered to me at the start "I don't think this is a smart people film, right?" Hilariously bad on all levels: particular love for JLo refining her spectacularly terrible brand of all-or-nothing b-movie style 'emotional' range.

Was it good? Not really. Was it watchable? Yeah. Nothing original, great ot surprising in this one but made me finish. JLo took herself really seriously.

I like Lopez, but Atlas is a terrible movie. The 1st act is an unmitigated disaster that does a bad job of setting up the world, the characters and sets the tone of frustratingly long CGI sequences that are frantically cut but utterly unengaging. The 2nd act is a bit better, developing the relationship between Atlas and Smith (the A.I.) and injecting a little bit more humour even if things are still predictable. Strong is decent, but barely in the film. Liu is too polished to be menacing.

This movie is memorable not for its accomplishments in dialogue and pushing ai horror as a genre forward, but for its sheer ability to cause the viewer fall asleep or catch a severe case of buyer’s remorse. Every corner of this movie is plagued with terrible dialogue. Whether it be the room silencing jokes, one liners that could shut down grandpappy’s pacemaker, or movie logic that makes you question if even you or the screenwriters were paying attention at all. I am less now for my experiences.

"Atlas" features Jennifer Lopez as a hero battling to save the world, with her success hinging on whether she can trust an AI. The movie is enjoyable as long as you focus on the action and don't scrutinize the plot too closely.

Mech bot Sci-Fi with J.Lo. Everything feels lightweight, but there is fun to be had. I can also easily understand why those weaknesses would turn anybody off Atlas (2024), but I've seen enough crappy movies to appreciate what this do offer in form of silly humor and playful CGI action. It's a brainless popcorn movie after all, so take it as it is.

Sibling rivalry leads a girl’s Asian step-brother to become evil; her subsequent feelings of guilt can be overcome only by becoming friends with a computer. Lopez's most memorable performance was in OUT OF SIGHT, where the tension was palpable, but there isn’t a shred of seduction to be found here, which fits with her persona as depicted in HALFTIME. In this film, most of the effort has gone into creating a kind of instructional video about how future technology may function. FTL travel though.
