Enjoyable take on Shakespeare's As You Like It. The historic Japanese setting worked well but I was surprised at the lack of... well... Japanese people in it. The casting was stellar and I think the only glaring flaw was the 5 minute dance off, or really skip off, during the films climate. It was just ridiculous. Thankfully after that a brilliant epilogue is included which allowed the film to end on a positive note.

Quaint and charming; beautifully directed by Brannagh. The actor playing Orlando was a total stud and Bryce Dallas Howard is so talented, but there were some scenes (namely, their first introduction with Rosalind as Ganymede) fell kinda flat and lifeless. Overall, very strong!

I felt the Japanese twist unneeded. But overall this was a good introduction to this particular Shakespeare work for me. The chemistry among the actors was great! It really got you to go along with the emotion of the moment. I felt Kevin Kline was a little much, but still overall likeable. And I wish they had done a more to make Rosalind look more boyish when in disguise. But overall enjoyable and would watch again!

Kenneth Branagh adaptation of Shakespeare "As You Like It" is both charming and romantic. sure, some of the acting are a bit over dramatic if not over-acted,but if it done by the right group of actors it could be fun to watch. the plot is really slow that it could reach boredom. though there are some poignant scene that it delivers what it is promised to be that is "a simple and charming romantic comedy". all of the cast were great especially Howard, who lead the film all the way through the end.

Interesting adaptation turning the play in more of a modern setting; the beginning was a bit rough, but Shakespeare really shines through in the second half of the movie.
