This was a good/fun watch. Most of the characters were "ok", but thats ok as it was supposed to be about the dog. For a minute near the end I thought they were going to have the dog die and if they had done that I would have rated this 0.

Well, considering this was a dog related film, and they have an almost innate (if not mandatory ) ability to bring on the tears, this was dissappointingly uninvolving. This may or may not have been true, but without understanding why the dog did what he did ( I cant believe he did it for just a sliver of meat ! ) it just seemed like an annoying pouch following a load of joggers around for no good reason. It was OK, enjoyable, but was very predictable and lacked any emotion.

This is quite a cheesy and somewhat predictable film but its still a nice enough kind of a watch. Its good to know its based on a true story, though I felt more emphasis was put on Mark Wahlberg as the main character (Michael) and not enough on the dog himself, that the film is named after. I was a bit confused about why the film has the name it has but its explained towards the end. Very cheesy, this is still a mostly watchable and entertaining watch. Some will enjoy it - I thought it was ok.

The King is great, the rest is pretty average. It's cool it's based off a true story, though. What a fantastic beast. Nothing really groundbreaking cinematically. The zipline scene was decent and the acting was fine. It does hit ya in the feels of course. 6.3

Long distance human endurance racing with Marky Mark. The acting was EH. The story was OK, but it was not particularly worthwhile.

The king stay the king. It's not the best version of this story cinematically, and it takes a while to get to the heart, since Mark's character really isn't that sympathetic outside of "hey I still have a dream," which we can relate to. His life really doesn't mirror the dogs' considering what the pup went through, but I get that it was portraying companionship and suffering, and I do think it succeeds. If I only rated based on how a movie ultimately hit me emotionally, this would be a 100.

Way better than ever could be expected.

A sweet story told well enough, less reliant on schmaltz or cliche than I expected.

Not a bad way to spend 90 mins. Lead is whiny (oh no he's rich, has a gorgeous wife, and a multimillion-dollar house), so we have annoying side characters to compensate. Don't worry, they all come around in the end. Fav scenes: exciting dog chase in the beginning to pad out the runtime; Mark Wahlberg asks the question we're all wondering about---how this dog chased them through the entire map---and then doesn't offer an answer; Marky being a Karen over his dog having to fly in a crate.

Cheesy as hell, but damn if it didn't make me smile.
