A lot of things seem to be left unexplained for you to glean from context and then it leaves you hanging with an open end. If you are particularly bothered by plot holes/loose ends or have a need resolution/closure, this is not the movie for you. Having said all that, I did find that it got better as it went on and the second half kept my attention pretty well. Good enough, but probably wouldn't watch it again, particularly knowing about the end.

Arq wasn't great but it was watchable. The premise is interesting but, if you are going to do a looping film, the parts that loop better be really good. This movie did not tell a good story in the time allotted. I wanted to know more about this world but there wasn't enought time in the film that they made to tell that story. The acting was good but not great. The lighting, in my amateur opinion, was terrible. I could see myself watching it again but I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone.

After a quarter century of this kind of "time loop" movie (not counting things like DEAD OF NIGHT, 1945), the best and most interesting of them remains the original, 12:01 PM (1990) (Lupoff and Heap ought to be well paid for this endlessly repeating cycle of copies). This debut feature is watchable, but decidedly just a variation on a very familiar theme: its function is presumably to be a calling card for future work.

Same old, same old. Funny how time loops have been so overused in movies that they now give me a feeling of deja-vu. I think I've seen worse, but can't think of any right now.

I love these kind of movies, so I wouldn't consider my opinion objective at all. The plot was a bit all over the place, some bits of it only make sense if the characters are all dumb as rocks, but if you suspend disbelief it's decent. If you like silly sci-fi, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. Simple enough.

Yikes, did those end credits ever make the film feel like an episode of a TV show or some throwaway B-movie. Put some effort into sticking the landing, will ya, Netflix? ARQ did start out feeling a bit like a second-rate sci-fi popcorn flick, but much to my surprise, it shook that feeling off fairly quickly and ended up as a completely solid mash-up of Groundhog Day and Primer. It even gains a bit of momentum near the end. It's good!

ARQ doesn't spark as bright as it could, as bright as it should. A sci-fi time-loop subgenre film that dares to do as much as it can with an apparent low budget, but convincing set: A home set in a post-apocalyptic or post-fascist milieu. But what detracts are the many loose leaps of logic to get characters to do what they must do to hurtle us towards an ending, an ending that feels incomplete even as it must have been intended to be arousing. Halfway to great.

Pretty much Edge of Tomorrow. Feels more suited to a TV series. Very rushed. Regardless a nice easy to watch Sci-fi, worth it if you have a spare 80 minutes.

This might just be the worst time loop movie ever made, meaning it's also one of the worst movies ever made. It's an exhausting concept that almost nobody can do properly. Brutal, aggravating, melodramatic, unrealistic dialog. There isn't much more to this film or story than that one-sentence synopsis.

A time looping movie. Not terribly written, so that's a huge plus.

firstly, what a game, great thrill, unfathomable circumstances. Now movies like this slightly makes one belief that in real life also consequences of our actions are impermanent. I have experienced it and when I watched many such movies in continuation. AND THAT IS A DANGEROUS THIING TO BELIEVE EVEN SLIGHTLY.

Arq introduces some novel ideas to the 'time loop' sub-genre, but ultimately feels constrained by its limited scope and budget. The story content and characterisation is derivative and under-written, and as such the drama is mostly unaffecting. I would recommend films such as '12:01' and 'Source Code', that just have a lot more to say and are more witty with it.

The film opened with bouts of cheap violence, strangers in gas masks, and a few disturbed gazes between the characters. There was no dialogue and the rooms were littered with "dark techno" paraphrenalia with no clear purpose. I turned it off after less than two minutes.

An interesting attempt at a "time loop"/paradox story, held back by some weak writing and acting.

Decent lower budget sci-fi flick here, has some interesting time travel elements and a little suspense thrown in for fun.

The only good thing I can say about this is the time traveling part of the plot. Everything else looks not very thought out and cheap. If you're into time travel, you would probably like it, though not a lot. Just a meh kind of like.

Elliot doesn't do more than play with his admittedly cool concept and i realized this halfway through and became immensely bored. The "end" makes it abundantly clear, and perhaps its clever that SPOILERS the end is in effect the beginning but as a viewer it just feels like wasted time. The cast is very generic, not bad, not good enough to engage. I do give extra points for the immolation, love a good immolation.

Better than it should be. It's just clever enough to get over the hump of it being "Primer minus technobabble"

ARQ takes a well-established premise and delivers a decent sci-fi thriller. The film maintains its pace and doesn't overstay its welcome, by adding just enough new information with each time loop, as well as action sequences to advance the plot. The cast do a good job, but the character motivations are a little shallow. The ending feels like a cop-out, without a truly satisfying resolution.

Rookie director's starter kit: time loop story mechanic, men in masks. It actually works and the story here has an interesting complication to the time loop.
