Super weird, but honestly I'd rather see super weird Nicolas Cage movies than some of the other stuff he's been making. It's not great but it's incredibly watchable and Cage is actually very fun here. Once I found out this is based on a true story my brain exploded and I passed out for 12 hours.

Army of One is a fun concept executed in a very mediocre fashion. Cage is great, almost channelling his inner Paul Giamatti. My problem with this film, is that every character is treated as colossally stupid. While this might have worked, the ludicrous characters coupled with slapstick interludes just don't come together. There are many funny scenes, with too much filler in between. I liked the ending, which leaves things on a more sombre note, though again ill-fitting with the rest of the film.

For the most parts unfunny, drawn out and amateurish. Cage and Brand both have their moments, but overall this feels like a 90 minute version of a half-baked improv sketch.

I can't help, but I like anything that Cage touches.

Don't know what to make of this. Nic carries it, overplays the part completely, but it's charming, stupid, funny and sad all at the same time.

When Cage gets this dedicated to a role, his performances can be great. I actually thought it was pretty funny but I completely understand that most people wouldn't like it. For me, I was just always intrigued as to where it would go next.

Larry Charles' career seems to exclusicely consist of movies that are uttergly cringeworthy, except the star of the movie is really funny and manages to bring some genuine laughs into all that absence of quality and craftsmanship. Now, Cage is entertaining to watch, but this could very well be half as long. Which could easily be achieved by cutting out 75% of all the random, lazy improv. Apparently Bob Weinstein recut the movie, so who knows what could've been...

"In the role he was born to play"! Cage's wonderfully eccentric and off-the-wall performance is the highlight of meandering drama which sits uncomfortably between reality and satire; literalising Cage's Christ fantasies in the person of cockneyish Brand is a jarring misstep, and director Charles can't quite seem to come to grips with the material, which means it tends to just sit there, after a promising opening. Definitely worth watching for the Cage aficionados out there!

When Nic Cage acts a crazy person and manages to be boring in the role it means bad news for the movie. Larry Charles has a sense of a humour of kindergarten kid.

Inspired on a true story about a sick&delusional handyman who travels to Pakistan on his own in order to capture Bin Laden and bring to the USA. Funny and sad at once.

I know the character is meant to be annoying but dear god there are limits to how much obnoxiousness you can fit into one film, it's not funny it's annoying
