Superb psychological thriller that's about as unsettling as you can make it: domestic terrorism, kids with rifles, dead wives and Joan Cusack as your neighbor. The only thing missing is Lindsay Buckingham belting out a chorus of "Arlington Roooooooooooad".

Starts slowly but ultimately draws you into its web. Possibly the last good pre-9/11 film about terrorism, this movie just could not be made in today's times. I think its overall impact has lessened over time, but at the time I found it to be both brilliant and terrifying.

A film that has a good suspense, is a bit repetitive in its development, but it ends well, clever and unpredictable.

Nonsensical at best, Road takes two of our better actors and pits them against each other for no apparent reason. More like a Lifetime movie with a higher production value, and just as forgettable.

Cheesy terrorist thriller hasn't aged well, but Jeff Bridges is still great as the professor suspecting that his namby-pamby neighbor Tim Robbins is a terrorist. Robbins threatens to sidetrack the whole thing again.

This story of a white person being a terrorist is such a novel concept that it's really amazing that no one has come up with this bizarre idea before. I recommend it.

Solid psychological thriller. Very interesting casting; not the roles I expect for Tim Robbins and Jeff Bridges. Slow burn with solid acting. And man is this film dark.

Bit of a slow starter but stick with it as the tension and complexity build up to a gripping climax. Subject matter would appear relevant given the number of recent terrorist attacks in the west but this thriller does not offer any additional insights.

Although it could have built its intensity more gradually, Arlington Road at least does well at maintaining it right up until its refreshingly devastating (if a tad far-fetched) climax, thanks to Bridges' crazed, slightly over-the-top lead turn and the heavy socio-political content from his lectures that fills in the gaps between the thrilling scenes of his paranoid detective work, his chilling interactions with the subtly creepy Robbins and Cusack, and the final high-octane action sequences.

What does it say about terrorists who, after months (years?) of meticulous planning and endless networking, put all their faith in a frenzied Jeff Bridges being able to drive a (rental) car at blistering speeds through several miles of downtown Washington DC traffic without getting pulled over by a single cop, killing a single pedestrian, or ramming the vehicle into a Starbucks and/or Wallgreens? Bravo, terrorists. You win.

Top badass moment? Faraday giving Tim Robbins' character a good slap. Beating up smug bastards is badass, even if it didn't help much in the end. Most professors probably can't fight like that either. (Years ago I was taught mathematics by a professor with an integral named after him; but I struggle to imagine him in any sort of punch-up.) 0 cats and 0 decapitations.

While the plot in "Arlington Road" is rather far-fetched, that really doesn't matter that much. After all, it is a fictional story. "Arlington Road" is definitely carried by the strong performances of Tim Robbins and, especially, Jeff Bridges. "Arlington Road" is a taut thriller that keeps on surprising. Oh, and the ending has balls.

If i had never seen the preview 20 times i might have liked the movie. The
beginning & ending were great but the whole middle is slow & me just waiting
to see events shown in the preview unfold. I think Jeff is a loser, and Tim
is great, all the characters are more interesting than the main one, & who
cares about him?

This movie is essentially there to make you angry. Since this is absolutely not the reason why I go to movies, I rated this a Zero. If you don't get as emotionally involved in movies as I do, and can leave without feeling angry and used, then by all means, watch this movie. I personally felt it was very blatantly and obviously manipulative, and it was not a fun experience in any way.
