Production wise this looks fantastic for the budget, great designs and feels cinematic. Plot wise it's a bit hit and miss. Just once, could we have the husband get fridged and a wife who is trying to resurrect them? This plot isn't aging well. They do lay the groundwork for the ending well, but there's not enough surprise here or in the plot in general to make this more than a curates egg for sci-fi fans

Rothery's screenplay and direction borrows the thematic exploration and visual acuity from Ex Machina albeit five years later. While not ground-breaking, Archive delivers on a solid sci-fi premise that is different enough to stand apart, and is an entertaining film outright. With a limited cast, James' does a decent job as a flawed protagonist, but it's Martin who carries the film in her triple role. Mitra's character was badly written. Fearing a predicable end, I was pleasantly surprised.

Too slow moving for its own good, although it is a decent sci-fi flick with a good plot twist, it just moves too slowly. Tries to derail you from the ending and manages well enough, but one guy creating this much technology by himself, in a secure, almost military base which is breached every 5 mins, but the guy doesn't care etc.. Although it makes sense in the end, his actions don't.. Still a decent watch though.

Ex Machina and Silent Running walk into a bar and begin acting out Black Mirror episodes, with Beyond the Black Rainbow as set designer.

A movie that follows the life of a total asshole; and once you accept that, it's less annoying to watch. It's got some interesting themes and the robots are certainly the most interesting characters. Great, isolated feel in the middle of the mountains and the markings in the bunker-like building being announced by a Japanese voice. It's not 'Moon', but it is still a decent watch if you're into AI and sci-fi movies at all.

it was pretty interesting, although there are some questions lingering about the ending for me. a bit slow tho, and acting could have been better also. But the eobot and AI shit was pretty cool and im a sucker for that so

One of my fave types of film genres is low budget SciFi. This is a masterclass in that in a lot of respects. Great writing and directing. I'm also a sucker for enhanced anthropomorphic robots. Great work by James and Martin. If you haven't seen this yet, avoid too many reviews and dive in. It does feel a bit sluggish at the halfway point but picks up in the final third with an excellent finale. 7.4 for me. Very solid.

The overall story is quite good, and could have featured as a great sci-fi novel. I felt like George's treatment of J1/J2/J3/J4 rendered him too contemptuous a protagonist to keep me invested in the climax, and the ending itself was too snap-fit. What really held me was the personification of the AIs throughout the first and second acts -- J1, J2 and J4 are the most humane and relatable robots since TARS and CASE. This movie deserves kudos just for drawing genuine sympathy to their plight.

Familiar themes, familiar style. But still, there is some interest in the way this treats the idea of using machine learning and pattern recognition to artificially recreate a personality from out of analogue data somehow obtainable from the remnants of the cerebral organ, and there is some additional layer of complexity to be found in the feeling that the film is not just trying to offer a plausible fiction of the future and is instead a kind of dream or nightmare hallucination of that future.

Feels like it was written by a 15-year-old who played the first few levels of Superliminal. The thought is present, but structurally and dialogue-wise it is clumsy and childish. Also the twist-ending completely undermines the agency of several characters.

Ex machina 2. Issız ormanda, 1 bilim üssünde çalışan bilim adamımız, yeni yapay zeka robotlar yapmaktadır. Robotlardan biri, ölen eski eşinin hafızasını yüklemek içindir. Theo James'in iyi oynadığı film, bilim ile gerçeğin arasındaki ince çizgide dolaşıyor. Değişik 1 film. Filmin sonunda, Open Your Eyes. Çin işi japon işi değil insan işi. Hemen biter işi.

A very interesting entry in the AI genre. Not as good as Ex-Machina, but entertaining nonetheless.

Not bad but could use a bit more polishing and streamlining. Also the main character is a bit of an asshole. That doesn't help the movie either.

So, we have a geek being a geek and missing his lost wife to the point of trying to resurrect her. And then we have a wife following her husband, being pregnant, then being jealous of each other through the 3 robot copies that the geek manages to build. Maybe the plot twist at the end could have saved this film if it had been more developed ... anyway, Gavin, next time cast a women for the genius geek please, or at least go easier on the sexist tropes
