Balan (Shankar) & Narayanankutty (Mohanlal) are best friends living in Madras. Balan constantly feeds his uncle & aunt, lies about him being rich, to be able to marry their daughter, Ammu. Narayanankutty, an auto mechanic, is a self-proclaimed playboy & claims to have many girlfriends, to impress his co-workers.
