It's cheesy, silly, it's definitely for kids, and it features very iffy performances by a young Roberts & Jojo. But, what this one really has going for it is the message it conveys, which is that love can't happen overnight and that friends are the most important people you can have. It's no cinematic masterpiece, but it has some really cute moments and a solid supporting cast. Plus, Sara Paxton gives it her all, and is easily the most enjoyable part of the whole movie.

I thought this movie would be one of those that distorts pre-teen girls view of romance and the world, but it actually has a girl -er mermaid- with these distorted views that wises up a wee bit. It's still too cliche & cheesy for it's own good. And I can't recommend it to anyone outside of the obvious demographic but it is one of the better movies aimed at said demographic if that counts for anything

A teensy weensy chick flick and a pretty shallow one at that.

I'm too old and too male for this one. That said there's some decent acting in it and it has its cute moments. If your older than 8th grade its probably not for you though

This is a terrible movie. And yet, it is MY terrible movie. It's fun and nostalgic and captures the exact vibe of that moment in the millennial girl.

I watched this purely because it was part of New Beverly calendar and discussed in the Pure Cinema podcast. It's a fun family film with lots of giggling, celebration of friendship and similarities with Frozen. It's also better looking visually than most of its peers and there has clearly been an effort to deliver something more than a quick cash grab. They don't quite stick the landing and have some generic FX, but as a whole it was still a pleasant surprise which the kids also enjoyed.

I always dislike movie mermaids that transform into people on land---no disadvantages! Oh no he won't love me since I'm just a gorgeous blonde thin girl with a tail when I get wet (oh...). Why is the daughter of the resort owner unpopular? Why are we moving to Australia when it's shot there? The other Disney Channel characters aren't more than tropes or diverse extras, but the older couple is cute. Fav scene: the real love was the friends we made along the way.

It's fine. Its target audience, tween and teen girls, should like this movie but there's not much here for anyone else.

Quite bad... and I don't think it taught good lessons about love and guys... it just was unrealistic, and nonsense.

I wish all mermaids to be dead because of this, not you Ariel, you're my favourite one!
