A Val Lewton horror movie where the monster is played by the Apaches. Them scaling the wall framed by barely lit windows would fill the nightmares of many a white man.

Certainly brought some anxiety once trapped in the church with a beautiful and simple visual composition to boot. Otherwise it did leave a tiny bit to be desired to really hit a climax. But for a priority B-western it's definitely a thrilling time.

Love brings redemption when facing death by honorless savages. It was cliche, racist, and not done very well.

That final siege scene is amazing. The lighting through the windows is just breathtaking.
