Having seen the 1st film as an adult, I thought it was awful & only watched this to find out what happened w/ Locke's character whose actions were a monkey wrench in an adolescent boy's power fantasy. No surprise: they change her quick. Still, this is better if only b/c there's real respect between Clint & his opponent. Still, it's all completely predictable & mileage depends on how funny you think monkeys are. Also odd (hypocritical?) to see Clint pander so much to rednecks' dislike of cops.

Any which way you can avoid watching this, I would suggest doing so. Har.

I'll give this movie one thing considering the complete incompetence it shows at almost every other level: it is committed. That being said, it's just too light-hearted without nearly enough actual substance.

Sorry sequel is marginally less abrasive than its predecessor; a new director in Van Horn does nothing to improve the at times incompetent film-making, especially the bizarre decision to film most of the fights from an awkward second-person perspective. No plot or purpose to any of this, with the gimmick of the monkey squandered; knowing the real-life circumstances surrounding the demise of the animal makes watching the movie particularly difficult. Nadir is the clunky Bo Derek/Ruth Gordon meld.

Holy Crap I might be the only person to ever say this but I actually prefer this to the original. It was a tighter story but still not much of one. And while I'd agree that this is more of a remake than an original I also think that all the actors are more comfortable in their roles here and that helps.

The charm of Clint and his brawling pet orangutan wore off pretty fast. Totally unnecessary sequel.

Monkeys and fat bikers and ugly women abound as Clint Eastwood punches people and doesn't talk much. Completely forgettable.

Silly but funny. A wonderful over-the-top, probably-too-long street fight.

I haven't seen the first yet, but I found this movie to be pretty fun. It's funny, has action, and not bad in any way, you can't ask for too much more from a movie like this.

This movie is not as good as the first one. There are plenty of wacky characters and some entertaining moments. Close to the ending of the movie things get a little to zany.

This was a painful movie to sit through. Clint Eastwood should be embarrassed but entitled to a mistake and certainly has nothing to prove given his success.

The first one was good all on it's own...and then this comes along floating down the river. Good job Buddy, you managed to make an even lazier effort than the first. Monkeys, bikers, old ladies and a boxing brute..sounds good to me.

Much like the first one, it's silly, but surprisingly charming. Clyde the orangutan makes it more than just a regular buddy film, and even if it''s considerably pointless, it's not hard to watch. Still, if there was one word for it, it would be...Ugh!

Fairly amusing comedy.
