In this adaptation of Dashiell Hammett's "The Farewell Murder", Nick and Nora (and their dog Asta) visit the estate of Col. MacFay, who is being threatened by a mysterious man wanting revenge for a past injustice. When MacFay is murdered, that man is the obvious suspect- maybe too obvious... (imdb)

Rather routine first half is made up for by the fun of the second, which features an absolutely hilarious encounter between Nora and a Latin lover on the dance floor, as well as Nick's interaction with Ma Kettle, during which Myrna is seen wearing an amazing coat. Then there's the rather silly kiddie party, which Shemp drops in on. Did that hugely labyrinthine wrap-up really make sense? Well, as always with these things, that takes second fiddle to all the drollery, double takes and one-liners.

My favorite of the Thin Man sequels. Where the easiest route for dramatic tension would be to put strain on Nick and Nora's marital relationship (former flames! tempestuous temptations!), this is possibly the only film that wisely plays the first card and trumps it with a fierce hand: showing the married couple as fiercely independent and loyal to one another in equal measure. Any tension is their being forced apart; any comedy is flirtatious misdirection.

You get what you pay for with any of the Thin Man movies -- a light little mystery with just a touch of noir and a big, BIG helping of flirtatious charm doled out in experly measured doses by Powell, Loy and a plethora of familiar faces in the supporting casts. None of the thin man movies rank as my favorites, but all are good for a quick, light romantic meal.

Worth the plodding first act, because the rest is pretty exciting. A pleasure to come back to the series.

Nick and Nora’s charisma continues to be great, even if the plot here is meh. Surprisingly, the baby didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would, still Asta is better than him

More far fetched and I didn't think the ending made any sense. It felt like they just pulled it out of "thin" air.

I don't know if I've seen so many movies that I now notice overused tropes more and more, but this, it seems to me, has loads, and so, feels clunky, this feeling is exacerbated by a bloated script. Aside from that, to see Powell and Loy verbally jousting is pretty great.

Há 80 anos O Hotel dos Acusados estreava nos EUA. Não é tão sensacional como o primeiro filme, mas Powell, Loy e Asta são tão charmosos e talentosos que não há como não se divertir assistindo-os. DVDRip HANDJOB.

As usual, I love Powell and Loy. Like the Frankenstein sequels, these titles start being misnomers. Never thought you'd see The Thin Man compared to Frankenstein, did you?

The mystery is more madcap than the first two, however in a reversal of the trend the resolution with all the characters gathered together is less insane. These films blur into each other as they're essentially the same: lots of witty banter, a couple of notable setpieces( here nora getting stuck dancing while nick moves the mystery forward), but despite the sameness the humor is always fresh and clearly the main draw so the quality stays high.

The 3rd is my least favorite of thus far. But when you're talking about William Powell & Myrna Loy collaborations that doesn't automatically mean a negative thing, for the duo is magnificent together, especially when they can exchange wits as they can in the Thin Man series. And this one is cram-packed with twists and turns. A massive pace for a 'whodunit?', perhaps too much going on to really grasp it all, leaving not as much room for their chemistry to shine in between all the red herrings.

Enjoyable enough.

Enjoyable, but a clear step down from the delightful antics of the first two films. There's still a great deal to love here, as the two leads are so much fun. However, there are a number of places where the film lags, particularly in the early going as the plot takes its time unfolding. The real stand out sequence here takes place in the dance club, which has it all--comedy, mystery, dancing, and Powell & Loy at their most flirtatious.

The Thin Man series takes some getting used to, so by the third one I began to get accustomed to it, the chemistry between Powell and Loy is impressive, and this time the story actually interested me.

A slight retreat from the first two movies in terms of comedy and theatrics.

The third one keeps the flame alive as the series continues to work well.
