Anne of Windy Poplars

The sequel to Anne of Green Gables (1934), and I liked it better. Sure, they rushed through a lot here too, but there was more story here that I actually cared about and therefore became a more enchanting experience. Naturally, some of it feels like forced sentimentality, but RKO Studios seemed to take good care of the production, with familiar actors and a fine polish on the sets, trying to create that evergreen feeling to this classic literature. So quite a nice experience.
