Anna Karenina

Considering all the great cinema version of Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina through the 100 plus years people have been putting it on the big screen, this Hungarian silent version is not one of those that'll be remembered fondly. Too static in it's 1910s capture. Anna Karenina is a story that needs those intimate and close details to work. And while the actors does well within the limited frame, the rest of the production isn't up to the task of illustrating the deeper emotions to this love story.
