Sometimes wobbly mix of cop drama, supernatural thriller and faltering romance can’t keep its plates spinning consistently (evoking memories of the better mixed and more satisfying GHOST), but works well enough in its individual elements to remain engrossing and enjoyable; Lopez is especially good, handling the abrupt tone and genre shifts around her masterfully. Perhaps a little unnecessarily opaque in its storytelling, but a satisfying film that hints at something better that might have been.

Mandoki's previous movie "Trapped" did not convince me. This is a bit better but i would blame Di Pego's script for all the faults. At least J Lo is one singer who can also act somewhat and here she looks very good in police uniform.

Not a bad movie per se, well made and interesting enough. My biggest issue is the filmmakers pounding the characters into you, I get it she is tough and he is brooding.

The whole thing almost re-defines the concept of "shallow".

"What with its cryptic storytelling, otherworldly pacing and doe-eyed little boys, Luis Mandoki's Angel Eyes could pass for a lost M. Night Shyamalan film." - Ed Gonzalez

I think with a different director and actors this could have been much better.

Is this film better than Gigli? Yes Is J-Lo a good actor after all, then? NO, she is terrible. She doesn't know how to emote. She does not understand subtext. "Be angry" so she is angry. "Be flirty" so she is flirty. "Be mock angry, its not real anger, its just a flirty, fun, mock anger" - so she is angry. "It's Turkey Time - Gobble Gobble." was the worst line in Gigli, possibly of any film ever made. "Kiss me someplace i've never been kissed" is what we get in this.

Although I remember nothing about the film itself, I do know that I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

It's just that it leads you on making it seem all creepy & weird & it's really just a boring little romance. The questions are: Why isn't Jennifer dressed better & more frequently filling the screen with her attributes? & Why is she going for this rather creepy head case guy who really needs to dress better & learn to talk like a human being?

A laughable, turgid romance. Jennifer Lopez is stolid and Jim Caviesel is an abolute bore.

Underrated romance melodrama--wrongly marketed as a supernatural thriller--about a police officer (Lopez) who falls for a mystery man (Caviezel) with secrets; kind of a cross between a noir thriller and romantic drama from the 40s, which is also why it probably didn't go over so well for modern audiences.

This movie reminds me of the screenplays I have read by people who think it would be really COOL to be a screenwriter but who have nothing to say, so they come up with one or two half-baked ideas and repeat and repeat and repeat them until they get enough pages to qualify for feature length. Another example of how even the biggest female stars have a real problem finding a good script these days. Total crap
