An Oversimplification of Her Beauty

A beautiful examination of a single moment in time. A moment that is only important to one person in the world but the movie tries to show us why this it is so important. Tee best portrait of unrequited love you're likely to ever see.

Very inventive and surprising. A very simple story told from a variety of different perspectives and in a variety of styles.

An ambitious artistic endeavor that I found quite tedious with its non-stop narration and overbusy visuals. Too much intellectualizing and too little emotional depth or substance.

Nance seems like a very thoughtful, possibly over-analytical guy with a sentimental streak. I can relate, which helps to sympathize with this wildly ambitious, rather unwieldy and overstuffed piece of self-conscious navel-gazing (the maddeningly recursive structure should be pleasantly familiar to anyone who's read David Foster Wallace). At a time when so much U.S. indie filmmaking feels lazy, i can't help but admire the sheer overcomplicated, try-hardness of this, despite it's myriad flaws.

Incredibly shallow. Of no interest.

Impressive and demanding movie, want to see this again one day.
