A much lighter film than the original, both in tone and dramatic impact - it feels like a goofy Saturday morning cartoon, complete with nonsensical asides, groan-worthy puns, and slapstick gags. Strictly for kids.

(100 Westerns Project #4:) As well-said by others here, this film - while not painful to sit through by any means - almost entirely jettisons what pathos and deeper themes existed in the first Fievel film and aims squarely for surface-level, low-tensions yuks for the kiddies. Oh, and it happens to be a western, so, uh, I guess it count for my western-watching marathon?

Not as good as the original. The songs not as good, the plot not as compelling. It is very whatever.

It's been a LONG time since I've seen this, but I remember not liking it nearly as much as the original.

There's home-video footage of me going up to a fishtank as a three year old and saying "Dogfish. Woof, woof."

What, they couldn’t send Fievel into space? A far more soft and down-the-line kids film than the darker and more interesting Part 1, at least this has a much more sure sense of tone and intent, though its lack of scale and ambition makes it a bit sleepy – Cleese is an incongruous inclusion, but seems to be enjoying himself (especially with that godawful (I think) Texas accent); much ballyhooed appearance by Stewart is fine, but he’s not really given much of a chance to do anything of note.

I don't know, I loved it. The physical comedy of Tiger was so good, and he also carried the movie so hard.

Seen: ?. This was a childhood staple when I visited grandma's house. Maybe it's nostalgia, but this movie is funnier, lighter, and more enjoyable than the original.

Has some moments of delightful, totally oddball humor, and the veteran voice cast is very likable. However, the movie suffers from lack of narrative focus and Don Bluth's absence, and the film's random detours into things like racist Native American stereotypes (presumably in order to pad the runtime) end up overwhelming the good parts.

Twice as energetic and half as charming as its predecessor, FIEVEL GOES WEST still holds onto a core message of heroism found within common virtue and unity. Don Bluth's absence means its lacks a painterly elegance, but the diversity in its visuals and its playful appreciation of western tropes partially makes up for it.

The main story is as kiddish and small as its protagonist, but fun and exciting journey sequences (Fievel's train and eagle ride; Tiger's dog-filled misadventure), clever pun-filled dialogue ("Dog-gone it, I'm dog tired... fightin' like cats and dogs against cats and dogs"), and delightfully nonsensical humour ("Dogfish...") make this film enjoyable for adults too. Wylie's surprisingly mature final speech ("One man's sunset is another man's dawn") is another appreciable moment.

My rating is almost entirely based on nostalgia. This was my jam as a kid. Lacks the sheer fucked-upness of the first, but I always liked this one better.

I loved this movie as a little kid, but watching it again as an adult, I see that the original (which I hadn't seen before) is far superior. This one tried to copy it really formulaic way, even when it wasn't at all necessary. The finale was terrible, especially compared to the first one, but at least they learned not to give Fievel a singing part this time around.

A cute little mouse in a darker-than-most kids cartoon. It's a bit rehashed from the first one, but worth sharing with any of your whipper snappers to see if they'll latch onto it.

Wow, let's take an awesomely original cartoon movie and rehash the plot the only possible way we can think of to come up with this poor excuse for a sequel. Thank god I rank on nostalgia value.

The first film was unforgettable. The problem is that Fievel, is just for children. Who was a kid, in the first film, is now adult. But it is a good animation.

When you take a second look as an adult, it raises some surprisingly inciteful issues about society, immigration and the American Dream. Also has gunfighting cats. I think.
