If nothing else, this might be the only horror franchise with an entry you can plausibly refer to as "the conceptual art one". The 3rd of the faintly-related sequels to take the travelling-haunted-object tack gives us a spooooky mirror gifted to a photog who finds out he's from a renamed version of the OG family, and with his artist friends designs a piece of performance art slash psychodrama in which he will cathartically pretend to shotgun them all like same. Far out. Lin Shaye is fab.

DTV rubbish. Waste of good b-actors.

The acting isn't great and the movie looks as low-budget as it was but that doesn't explain or excuse how boring this was. I mean I thought that the idea of a haunted mirror sounded hokey but fun.

There’s enough to enjoy even in this 3rd DTV Amityville film. Nolan’s regular DP Wally Pfister makes the film look bigger than its budget. Cast is ok and contains names like O’Quinn and Roundtree - who’s role is quite small. I thought Lala Sloatman was beautiful and she should have been more profilic. The film has a stronger link to the original trilogy than the previous ones and works well enough before falling apart during the final third when it tries to be too many things at the same time.

Yet another vaguely related sequel; it's well directed but the story fizzles out well before the lame (and obvious) conclusion. The supporting cast has a lot more verve than the bland leads.
