"I'm not racist, but..."- The Movie.

This is so self-serious that it will often circle back around to being hilarious. The revenge porn that there is, is good, but the rest of the movie is mostly misses. Might be fun as a so-bad-it's-good watch.

American Assassin is a seen-one-seen-them-all kind of movie. You've seen almost every frame of this movie in other, better movies before, and you've seen it done better. You won't care for the character, you won't care about the plot, the action is mediocre-to-bad, and the performances are mostly indifferent at best. Michael Keaton generates a little bit of fun, but he can't make American Assassin even close to worthwhile.

Can't remember a thing about it.

Michael Keaton is good in this, while the agent-in-training-wheels is terrible and completely unbelievable. Keaton should have been the villain, where the initial beach incident was actually his fault and taking on a new agent was part of a scheme to cover his tracks (though that would be similar to The Recruit), and the stupid plot where junior agents with zero field experience are sent after a rogue nuclear device could be eliminated.

Decently entertaining meat and potatoes spy action bullshit if you're into stuff like James Bond, Mission Impossible, 24, etc. - which I am!

A high budget movie with great locations, special effects, music and production quality. Dylan O'Brien was somewhat less than satisfying. Michael Keaton stands out. Sanaa Lathan and the huge supporting cast was good. However, the story and dialog is implausible and sometimes ridiculous. Better plot and dialog with more emotional investment would have greatly improved it. Despite its flaws, I liked it more than I probably should have.

Predictable with some asinine logic.

Maybe my score warrants a more impassioned explanation, but tbh there's more exemplary Pentagon-/OSS-/CIA- subsidized cinema out there towards which to plant one's soapbox: it's just the kind of routine, brain-dead bullshit to which there's kind of not much to say in response: Woke Gulf-State monarchies, Iran inexplicably wants to nuke "the Jews," CIA are über-menschen "peace"-keepers redeeming our ideological confusion, et cetera, etc., et cet...

A movie that is mediocre in just about everything. Enjoyable enough within the moment, but utterly forgettable afterwards.

The actors do a good job in this film. However the script offers nothing new and the film can't make up for a lackluster script. Overall this film is disappointing.

Another one of those B-movies with a budget. Kind of entertaining, but also pretty stupid. Which is not surprising, since the shortcuts are obvious as such. Your usual prose-to-film issues. Especially apparent in the second half of the movie. My man crush on Dylan O'Brien continues. He's got all the leading man stuff and he can do action. Also the other day I learned he's the Dylan from that Chris D'Elia clip, which is hilarious.

Run of the mill action shlock.

Giden gelmiyor. Geri dönmüyor. Oyunun Sonunda.

Çok iyi seçilmiş oyuncu kadrosuna rağmen kendi türüne göre vasatın altında film. Konu bilindik ve ilerleyişte hemen hemen hiç bir sürpriz olmuyor sadece tempo yüksek o da gereksiz uzatılan film yüzünden bir yerden sonra düşüyor.

Filmin ilk 10 dakikasını izleyin ve kapatın. Rezil bir film olduğuna sözde Istanbul' da geçen sahnelerde %100 emin oluyorsunuz. Scott Adkins ve Michael Keaton açısından çok üzüldüm.

American Assassin takes itself very seriously, while having logic bordering on a Fast and Furious film. It’s also not original in the least bit. All that aside, the cast is decent, and the set pieces are kinda fun. Not a bad time if you can turn your brain completely off.

The first half is almost painfully formulaic; the second half improves considerably, but still suffers from a one-note, if somewhat entertaining to watch, villain.

Total waste of human life. I want my time back.

Entertaining. Scott Adkins, even if he appears just 1/3 of the movie professional as usual. The best part the one at sea, 1 extra point for that!!!

It doesn't have anywhere near the deepest plot. It is an action revenge thriller which gives Dylan O'Brien a chance to shine. Keaton is also great in his role and shows he can still handle the fight scenes well. Beyond that it is somewhat flat and predictable as it plays out. No new concepts added to the genre.

American Assassin takes so many other elements from other action movies, it's actually kinda astounding. However it doesn't do anything to add to the formula, and while that's disappointing, the performances from O'Brien and Keaton more than make up for it. Keaton is a favorite of mine and O'Brien has all the talent to be a star, and these two along with Kitsch are what makes this movie. Thoroughly entertaining throughout.

Fast-paced, cynical and highly entertaining. Taken meets a modern-day Jack Ryan if you will.

An almighty mess of a movie reeking of production interference throughout, American Assassin throws in everything the makers think a cinema audience is looking for - without going to the trouble of making any of these multiple elements fit. Everything here is bad, with the result that you're never involved, always conscious you're watching a movie, with the awful dialogue in particular grating throughout. To compare this to a crappy episode of 24 would be insulting crappy episodes of 24.

Kinda silly overall but the Sixth Fleet sequence was pretty cool.

A piece of propaganda, not even a good one. A grade-A bullshit, depicting every nation that is not in line with the US to be terrorists and enemies of mankind, while the weakass punk American boy toy and his empowered female black boss save the world from the bad guys. All extra judicial killings, personal revenge and ignoring local, national and international laws apparently make a good soldier.

1564: not bad!

Counter point to the hate: it's a fun little spy/action movie. It actually goes a little grittier than some other movies of the same ilk, and Keaton was entertaining. I mean, it doesn't have a whole lot going for it but it's put together well enough and I enjoyed the two hours I spent with it, wasn't bored. The ending was a little wonky though.

Nothing special.

I definitely expected something more like Bourne. Not so though. There is no real story as it is all very linear. The acting wasn't that great feeling, none of the characters were likeable... It was honestly pretty boring. The soundtrack though was great.

O'Brien does not have the necessary charisma to pull this off. Keaton is entertaining. The film is extremely derivative and, it must be said, not very good at all.
