A French man torn between two strong women as World War 1 breaks out. Does he fight for his fatherland as his mother wishes or his wife's Germany where they live. A fine dilemma put on film as the Great War was in full effect. Gabrielle Réjane as the mother and Francesca Flory as the wife both have massive personalities and this is missing only minor guidance adjustments from the director that keeps this from becoming a superb drama.
