Alice's Wonderland

I've known about this for a long time but I've never watched it, for some reason. It's a terrific short, showing a little more clearly than the Laugh-O-Grams what kind of filmmaker Disney was going to become. The special effect of having a live action girl interacting with cartoon characters honestly works pretty well, considering the short is 95 years old at this point. Virginia Davis did great, too. She brought a lot of charm to the role, thanks in part to Disney's colorful direction.

The introduction of the live action star of Disney's next four years or so worth of animation. Putting an actual kid into the cartoons was a pretty good conceit, even if the execution isn't always the greatest. Also a popular one for featuring a few of the animators themselves in the live action portion.
