Albert Brooks: Defending My Life

Genial and sweetly rambling consideration of Brooks and his status as comic icon is not an especially insightful portrait, and the agog gushing from the array of his celebrity pals feels like a semi-betrayal of Brooks’ usually more dryly cynical tone, but there is still an undeniable pleasure in the simple act of sitting with Reiner and Brooks for 90 minutes and hearing them swap showbiz stories and quips, with both men in fine, disarming form. Good fun on that basis.

If you are not familiar with him, this movie has no entertainment factor. Should have been a post-it note saying: "Albert Brooks - influential comedian - check out his films"
