After showing us his remarkable acting range in The Walking Dead as surname-less Daryl--an unshaven miscreant fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic world where no one can be trusted, not even your closest companions--Norman Reedus takes on the role of first name-less Bauer, an unshaven miscreant fighting for survival in a post-apocalyptic world where no one can be trusted, not even your closest companions.

A good premise and reasonably well done.

I can understand why some would like the somewhat minimal Sci-Fi Air (2015). Got a certain ambiance and a story which had some interesting ideas. But for me the entire scenario ends up being dull and dreamy.

Air succeeds due to Affleck and Damon's convincing portrayal of salesmen. The film transforms the story of profiting from a sneaker into a compelling tale about a gambler and a dreamer betting careers on the belief that rookie Michael Jordan was extraordinary. This conviction drives the film, and knowing they're right adds urgency, reminiscent of Christopher Walken's vision in The Dead Zone.

As George Harrison in The Simpsons episode, I should say "It's been done"... Nothing out of the box. Nothing thrilling. I wish it was at least cheasy. Go Norman Reedus!

It's not that I hate Air, but for the talented cast involved it is pretty disappointing. The script is lackluster and the performances are alright at their best. However, I'll be looking forward to more Cantamessa because some of the camerawork was very good for a small budget sci-fi. It's interesting but it doesn't pass for a really good film.

Passes the time.

Basically a film you would watch on a flight. It'll keep you engaged at times, but you really have no emotional investment in the story or the plot.

like a sci-fi theatre play with shallow dialogues

Well, Reedus is Reedus is Reedus I guess. But apart from his character I liked the idea of air as a valuable good that might become too poluted in the future. I was also impressed by how little a post-apocalyptic movie needs in terms of actors and effects to create an eery atmosphere. Yet, the dialogues and plot were a little shallow...

lots of contradictions blemish the basically good, although not entirely new, idea. norman reedus will never be anything besides daryl dixon again and hounsou...well, he's there and does stuff, i guess. production values are on par with indies like cube, so everything works well enough within the narrative, but don't expect anything breathtaking (pun intended).
