Come for the scandalously sexy dance, stay for the so-so early Danish seduction drama.

An interesting mixed-bag. The compositions and structure are really quite run-of-the-mill for the era, but the dance scene is rightly remembered. Aside from pushing the censorship envelope, it's an astounding tone changed that is amplified by its awareness of the social norms in women's attire. Unfortunately, the rather sexist motivation for the tension of this film, which relies on a fundamental judgement of women's sexuality, makes it hard for the film to be highly effective in the modern era.

Nielsen's Gaucho Dance is the most sexiest scene ever in film history.

Not very memorable. Totally forgot about seeing this before.

Some great composition enforce a peculiar mood and the somewhat bold content suggest slices of eroticism.
