Completely and utterly runs out of ideas about 50 minutes in. Up till then, though, it's pretty cool--sort of a scrappy horror version of CHRONICLE. Lee and Prowse bring a lot of energy and inspiration to this project, just not quite enough to sustain a 90-minute film. I'd be down for a sequel, though, and look forward to seeing what these guys come up with next.

One of the better found footage films out there. The vampire idea was both refreshing and a bit of a let down. I would have liked it better if the affliction remained unknown. Both Derek & Clif were great in this and I would watch whatever they come up with next.

Some undeniably creative sequences make up for what is otherwise a really corny found-footage movie. However, I'd be hard pressed to recommend a movie like this when Chan-wook Park's THIRST and Tomas Alfredson's LET THE RIGHT ONE IN exist on a much higher plane of vampire extravaganza.

I hate found footage films. This was one of the better ones. Still it was mildly entertaining at best!

I am tired of the found footage, shaky camera format, so this movie barely works for me. Some of the elements were a fresh take on the genre, that I wish had been incorporated into a better quality production. I really liked many of the story points, and the story progression. The format, contrary to its purpose, subtracts heavily from it. Some of the action and special effects are great. Pacing is erratic but acceptable. An admirable acting effort by all, but it feels too fake to be terrifying.

So close, yet so far -- so frustrating to see unrealized potential for greatness. Great setup, great (yet restrained) effects. They just forgot a narrative. You can't have a film where the entire 'story' is 'whoa, man, look at this. oh whoa, man, now look at *this*.' That's not a story, it's a series of vignettes. The writer/director/stars also don't quite have the acting chops to carry an entire film. I look forward to seeing if they improve, but for now, swing and a miss.

Surprisingly entertaining. Starts out a bit slow and uninteresting, but I liked it more towards the end when things truly escalated. Some pretty cool action sequences there. The dialogue feels a bit janky at times and the characters lack depth. Otherwise, nice found footage sequences and a solid progression of how things go from bad to worse.

Awesome; it revitalized my found footage love.

Some borderline groundbreaking cinematography, but the progression and characters never quite connect.

Some pretty neat special effects help to really sell the concept, which raises this otherwise kinda basic found footage title to a respectable level. As other pointed out already, feels kinda Chronicle-ish. Would've liked some more surprises once the nature of the affliction becomes clear (instead of a lot of running away) but I'm pretty OK with what we got.

Afflicted is a unique and ambitious addition to the found footage genre. At first the actions of the main character were unbelievable, but then there was a key plot reveal that explained what was otherwise goofy. I admired the timing of this story. It felt like the movie was over in the middle and when I discovered it was only half completed, I was interested to see what would happen. I think I would appreciate this movie more on a second viewing, because I wouldn't be annoyed by the unbelievabl

This is a film that brings both the found-footage genre as the most ancient horror subject ever, to a higher level. http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/2014/07/afflicted-2013.html [Full review]

Not bad, not bad. Decent FF vampire flick. Kinda plays out like a superhero movie at first. The villain is out of True Vampire or something and really, really doesn't fit with the rest of the movie.

This one actually really impressed me, and though the beginning was goofy, it was actually a pretty cool segue into the movie's primarily dilemma. Definitely worth a watch, pretty freaky and compelling.

I thought this was going to be a movie about two hapless, dullards traveling around the world, until the supernatural got involved. Turns out it was also written and filmed by two hapless dullards, with little charisma. It has some moments, but most of it is bad acting and corny "get on with it" moments.

Pierwsza polowa niezla, druga przecietna. Od czasu do czasu pojawiaja sie na szczescie calkiem fajnie zrealizowane sceny, choc poziom bzdurnosci siega momentami zenitu ;) W ogolnym rozrachunku poprawny horror. Dla fanatykow found footage/mockumentary.

Well done special effects and in some sense well-made found footage film. Certainly not a horror film, what with the utter lack of fear or anxiety-producing atmosphere, though the existentially claustrophobic sense in which the protagonist is trapped toward the end does almost become effective. Then the last moment is the dullest way to 'resolve' the ethical aspect of that experience, rounding out the film's general loyalty to convention.

An entertaining found footage horror film - I like where they went with this, and what they did with the mythology.

Bit of a Chronicle rip-off and there are some plot holes that are glossed over by the fact that it's found footage but overall it's probably one of the best found footage movies out there - I know that isn't saying much but the writer-director-star duo have a good start on a good career, wait til they learn from this and do something really good.
