the film started out slow and confusing, but picked up momentum as it went along - a really gripping and suspenseful plot, but the acting/dialogue was a bit lacking. pretty good though, over all.

The first half was especially slow and disjointed, I was hoping there would be a payoff, but it just continued to plod along all the way to the end. Not even Brittany Murphy helped to save this stinker. The porter was especially boring and vacant. The plot could make a good movie, but the direction was absolutely terrible. It failed to build real suspense and the ending was unrealistic. This movie fails at so many levels. Don't bother with this one, it is sadly not worth the time to watch.

Innovative direction, but would have preferred to have seen the short film.

While this film starts off in an interesting manner, it quickly takes a turn in the opposite direction. What may be viewed as a creator of suspense, Across The Hall is... slow. It is so slow, that the suspense built up doesn't even matter anymore. Perhaps 55 is a modest score for such a film, but a non-linear story line, above average atmosphere and feel, and a brilliant character in the form of the porter make up for it, even if it is just a bit.

Some cool camera shots, and one real cool hotel supervisor, make this pretty watchable.

I got about 10 minutes in: no dialog, no real plot points, no jokes, nothing to keep me going.

The short was amazing; this full length remake, not so much. Not enough there for the expanded time limit. Should have stayed as it was, SHORT.

The story was good. Also how director split it in parts and rearrange the timeline. But the hotel was stagey and the entire movie was just an extented short story (film was actually a short story made in 2005). The end was effective and the well done opening titles set the right mood. A couple of more films and the director could put out an decent entirety.
