The Conversation made by Milkyway production values and directed by De Palma. Absolutely noirish and melancholic paranoid thiller conducted by Koo's disturbing character. A man who lost his wife in a staged accident and now leads a team who does the same -- kills people in ultra-fashionable ways and make it look like an accident. When his partners start dying in multiple accidents, he believes it must be a set-up. It loses energy in its last 30 minutes, but its wide angles are pure bliss.

Starts off as a very clever and interesting crime thriller, but after the first 1/3 the "accidents" get sillier and sillier until it looks like a lazy Final Destination knock-off. The better characters get killed off too soon and it's another of those badly casted movies full of doppelganger characters who get you unintentionally confused. Johnnie To put his name on this clunker - bet he regrets it now.

Starts off well but gets worse with every passing minute. Accident choreographer, the Brain forgets to factor a solar eclipse into his sun-based plan!

The story is actually quite good, but screenplay and film just do not live up to that.

Wow. The way these assassins work is extremely creative. Major plot twist. Fun watch!

The conceit is incredible, with loads of melancholy and flashes of dramatic violence. But the film gives no easy answers, perhaps to a fault, and inspires Lynchian-style personal identity conspiracy theories. Yet there still might be a great film hiding in here. Practically necessitates a rewatch.
