Oh dear. Literally zero attempt to breathe new life into the old "good girl forced to turn bad" trope. Angelina (get it? She's sort of like an ANGEL!) comes from a broken home, you see? So she runs away for the big city where...THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM! She, quite easily, gets mixed up in drugs and porn. People exist only to judge or use her (or both!). These would be fresh insights in, perhaps, 1947. Within 10 minutes my fiance predicted the entire movie with 100 percent accuracy. No joke.

Given its title, it's rather ironic that my biggest complaint about this one is its lack of focus- both in terms of characters, and overall theme/message. Ashley Hinshaw is honestly great here & impressed me a lot, & the ensemble cast around her is strong too, but ultimately what lets all of their performances down is the cluttered script that can't figure out what it's trying to say. I still enjoyed it & don't see why it gets so much hate, but there's definitely a few puzzle pieces missing.

A lot better than expected.

Screw me? No. Screw this movie that aims at some kind of enlightenment but robs its character of really making an empowered choice by actually confronting the issues.

Here is the issue. Tits are fine and all, but come on, it was boring and dull. It went practically no where. I am, bored.

I watched it because of James Franco. I really liked its photography, Franco and Dev's performance. It would have been a better drama had the friend zone thing been resolved differently.

I don't remember when a movie about porn was that dull. Mother is always right. Porn business people come from broken families. Men are pigs. Who cares? And Ashley Hinshaw's got a totally forgettable face.

Comes at an enticing premise in a shockingly grim, low-energy, meandering fashion. Hinshaw is watchable enough (even when she's dressed, I mean), but other than that it was a largely unpleasant experience.

Aside from Ashley Hinshaw being a complete Goddess, this movie was as flaccid as... week old lettuce. I kept waiting for something, anything to redeem this film and all it left me with was blue... feelings toward the writing. I mean it's not hard to at least end a movie decently is it? They couldn't have gone for some kind of money shot at the end? Sadly, I've seen some adult titles with a little more follow-through. Oh Graham and Franco... what happened? Oh well at least Hinshaw is still hot.

Rather slow. The attempted character build-up, doesn't really work and it is a bit weird how late in the movie the focus turns more towards the supporting characters than the main one.

A mediocre plot up until the end when it just fell flat, but the acting made it an ok movie. Pretty forgettable. Also, James Franco, you're so much better than this.

I agree with Rufflesack that the ending felt weird and out of place. In fact, I actually thought the movie was a solid take on the "girl getting into porn" idea... Hinshaw played a tragic character but the movie wasn't just like GIRLS WHO ARE IN PORN ARE DAMAGED, which is nice. I mean, she is, but it isn't her only reason for doing it, and porn isn't treated like the devil in this movie. Good performance by her, rest of the movie was good, but deserved a better ending. Hot sexual scenes too.

I liked it. I'm surprised that Franco and Graham didn't steal the show more, but fortunately Hinshaw and Patel turn around good performances without which I don't think I would like this film too much. For instance the ending felt really weird and out of place. Poor Dev Patel.

Overall badly-written. Good idea for a movie, but there were no real characters there, except for the ones that played minor roles like Dev Patel's character or the other porn actors (who, including Patel, gave the most authentic performances in the movie). Everything that happened seemed kind of random, just to make some sort of drama. Unfortunately very unnatural. Did also not buy Hinshaw being an 18-year-old. :/ Whis is kinda weird, considering how she pulled off exactly that in Chronicle.
