About Adam

Stuart Townsend gives new meaning to being a ladies man. A fun romp despite the fact that he makes love to every sister in the family. Kate Hudson and Frances O'Conner are beautiful, and it's funny how they lose the Irish accents that they began with. Plenty of tense situations and it always seems that disaster might be just around the next corner. Somehow it has a happy ending, but it can't be taken seriously.

It is a well-constructed, somewhat risky Irish romantic comedy as Adam the master seducer goes through a whole family, while somehow not coming off as a jerk. The changing POVs are well handled and Adam and his life philosophy are interesting (Hard to pull off though). I just wonder if this was an American movie what kind of sequence they would shoot "Of Cousins and Adam" "Adam and the Curse of 4th base", "How Adam engaged with me and married my father", endless...

It is surprisingly a charming romantic comedy. Kate Hudson gave a surprisingly decent performance in this movie, completely out of the blue. Stuart Townsend and Frances O'Connor really played their roles well. Overall a decent romantic comedy.
